The purpose of this book, according to the authors is to provide: “the framework and basic information about bodies, gender, and touch, and we’ve left blanks that only you and the kids in your life can fill in.” (“To the Grown-Up Reader”) Elsewhere, Cory Silverberg has admitted to wanting to confuse people’s ideas about gender and sexuality, undermining the stated intention of the book.
